West Side Cats is a volunteer-run rescue, and we couldn’t do what we do without people willing to lend a hand. We’re always looking for kind, dependable volunteers who love cats and want to help.

Most volunteer shifts are about 1–2 hours and involve helping with the everyday care that keeps our shelter clean, comfortable, and running smoothly.

Volunteers help with:

• Cleaning litter boxes and cat rooms

• Refreshing food and water

• Laundry and general tidying

• Assisting visitors

• Office tasks & paperwork

• Socializing, petting, and spending time with the cats

Stop in during our open hours to meet the cats and our volunteers. You can fill out a volunteer application while you’re here; just bring a photo ID so we can attach a copy to your application.
